Nagnebang community gathering

A place to land. A space to grow.

"This room doesn't feel like it belongs to us.
Let's give it to someone who needs it." — Summer 2018, the beginning of Nagnebang

We open a room.

Nagnebang offers a safe place to live for young adults who need a home base in the city. By sharing the most essential thing — a place to live — we help people build the foundation to live their own lives.

No contracts. No deposit. Residents contribute 10% of their income as a house fee, share common spaces, and live at their own pace. The food in the fridge, the things in the living room — everything is shared.

We do this because everyone, at some point in life, needs somewhere to lean. Living alongside others makes us better people — and that's more than enough reason. This isn't about sacrifice. It's simply a better way to live.

Financial

The operator covers the full deposit. Residents pay 10% of their income as a house fee. If you have no income, the minimum is ₩200,000/month — and in genuine hardship, contributions in kind are welcome.

Daily Life

Basic furniture and appliances are provided. Common spaces and the shared fridge are for everyone. What we have, we share.

Mindset

If someone else needs this room more than you, we ask that you can gracefully make space. Nagnebang is not a place to stay forever — it's a place to prepare for what comes next.

Community

We value loose but warm connections. Operators, residents, and supporters all look out for one another — even after the journey moves on.

I Came as a Traveler

During a season of preparing to stand on my own after graduation, I knocked on Nagnebang's door. The Seongbuk-dong alleys, the local bakery, walks along the fortress walls, movie nights with three of us on the couch… I only stayed a while, but it left a deep mark.
